After our success with Guedel Design, we began to look for other opportunities to apply for grants. The first one we found was Meijer. In order to receive a grant from Meijer, we had to write a proposal of what we wanted from the store. After we wrote our proposal, we took the proposal to the Meijer on East Washington Street. There, we obtained a form that I am holding (on the right) that required us to fill out basic information about our non-profit organization and why we do what we do. Later, on that same day, we filled out the form and returned it to Meijer. We have not yet received a response from Meijer, but we are hoping for some positive news! Kroger Grant Unfortunately, not every grant that we apply for is an immediate "yes". Just this past week, our team and I emailed Kroger to try and receive a grant. Just a couple of hours later, I received an email that denied our request of a donation. This denial was because Kroger had just donated to Riley, and did not have sufficient funds to support our cause. They were very generous, and although we did not receive a grant, we are still very thankful that Kroger considered our request! This just goes to show that just because you apply for a grant, doesn't mean that you will get every grant you apply for. Build-A-Bear Grant After Kroger declined our request, we decided to apply for a donation from Build-A-Bear. Build-A-Bear donates bears to non-profit organizations, and especially to non-profit organizations whose focus is on kids. Since our organization focuses on kids, we thought that this would be a perfect opportunity for us. We requested 24 stuffed bears from Build-A-Bear. We submitted this request yesterday, so we are still waiting on a response. We plan on personally giving the kids at Riley stuffed bears to make their day a little better. We believe that this donation would be the most important donation that we would receive. Guedel Design Results If you recall, in last weeks blog, NPBid partnered with Guedel Design. We continued to partner with them throughout the rest of the week, and raised a total of $354.30. We could not be more thankful for the opportunity given to us. If all goes to plan, we hope to partner with Guedel Design one more time during the Christmas Season. We had such a great time partnering with Guedel Design, and we would like to thank them again for the opportunity.
